Technology Hype Cycles

In recent technology hype cycles (blockchain and AI) a lot of existing and new companies try to position their offerings around the technology.

This is a mistake. Every time. It ignores the customer.

Buyers do not care about the technology. They're selfish, they want their problems solved. Rightfully so.

It usually goes something like this:

"We do X, but with AI" or "We do X, but it's on the blockchain"

Nobody cares.

Take ChatGPT for example, no one is using it because it's AI. They're using it because it's giving them leverage and making them more efficient.
